An exhibition-cum-stall of Antardrishti products was organized by the Department of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens at Hessarghatta Road, T. Dasarahalli, Bangalore on December 3rd. The program was inaugurated by Chief minister of Karnataka Sri Yediyuruppa, Sri G Jayaram, Director of Department of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens and Sri M Narendra Swamy, Minister for Women and Child Welfare. He said the government is planning to establish a State Disabled Welfare Bhavan, for which the BBMP will provide a site in Bangalore.
The Chief Minister said that the government is planning to establish a State Disabled Welfare Bhavan, for which the BBMP will provide a site in Bangalore and the state government has given three per cent reservation to the physically challenged people in A and B Cadre and five per cent in C and D cadre. He also said that there are 9.4 lakh physically challenged people across the state, of which around 4 lakh are visually challenged.
Sri M Narendra Swamy, Minister for Women and Child Welfare requested the chief minister to build a ‘Bhavana’ for the disabled under the BBMP grants to which chief minister agreed immediately.
Sri G Jayaram, Director of Department of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens was also their and distributed awards to NGOs and individuals for their contribution in the field.
Team Antardrishti distributed brochures to all the NGO representatives and government officials including Minister Narendra Swamy. Mr. G. Jayaram invited Team Antardrishti to their office for discussions. Support for Antardrishti program from Government may be expected.
